Life before the incline conveyor & Back story
Our customer a leading supermarket in the southern part of Sri Lanka had a 2 storey building, The ground floor was used as for the supermarket and all retail and financial activities while the first floor was used as the store. This made it easier to carry goods down when supplies ran short downstairs.
Being a supermarket they had stack a large variety of goods which needed to be transferred from the transportation vehicles to the first floor. The goods transferred could weigh many tons especially sacks of rice, flour, lentils and such had a very large weight. A large labor force had to be maintained just to carry the goods upstairs to the store and yearly labor costs for this task alone summed up in the millions.
Millions saved with an incline conveyor
After approaching the vahakaya.com team we were able to propose a conveyor system that would enable our customer to cut the laborers from 10 to merely 3. This saved millions. The time taken or unloading of goods also dropped drastically a 10 hour overnight unloading job could now be done in merely 30 minutes!
So much with a small investment in machinery.
